Morphological Features of Species

Cells measured about 5–7 μm in length and 3–4 μm in width, with a length-to-width ratio ranging from 1.4 to 2.0. Trichomes consisted of cylindrical cells dividing transversely, while apical cells were generally rounded or slightly elongated after fragmentation, and calyptra was absent. Thylakoid keritomy was commonly observed, being most pronounced in heterocytes and least evident in akinetes.
